You may be one of many who are wondering: 'Why was there no post last week?' Well, the answer is quite simple. There was a dispute here at the Pacific Feed Weekly about which new design layout to use for the site which then led to a writer strike. All I am at liberty to say is that after long hours and many coconuts later, the strike has been resolved and the posting will continue with the new design layout which you may have noticed. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Please accept our sincerest apologies.

Excitement is in the air. The dawn of a fresh new building is upon us. We have been working hard this past week on digging the foundation for the Kingdom Hall and setting the forms for the footings. It is so nice to see the progress being made on this lot. Sometime very soon, this building will have true worshipers of Jehovah meeting in it, and enjoying spiritual food being dispensed comfortably in their new Kingdom Hall. It makes you feel so good thinking about that and how well Jehovah cares for his servants on an island that many in the group hadn't even heard of until coming out here.
A follow up has been made on the call that I had, and at long last I met the father of the gentleman that I had spoken to. We found the mother and father home and boy oh boy what a visit it was. They expressed their appreciation for the work that we do and really find the information clear, understandable, and most importantly from the bible. We started right into the teach book and had a pleasant discussion. After we were finished, their son, whom I had originally spoke to, came home and also seemed quite thrilled at the thought of a bible discussion. I am anxious to return.
A couple weeks ago, there was a group that traveled by boat to Walung. For those of you unfamiliar with the topography and village structure of Kosrae, Walung is a village that is a more than 20 mile journey by road, and only passed by 4-wheel drive vehicles. Imagine 20 miles of off-roading. That is a long trip. This helps you understand why they chose the sea as their route. Walung is a very isolated area with no electricity or stores, and the residents lead a very simple life utilizing many natural resources. The locals were very hospitable and happy to receive visitors. The group, taking into consideration that this village is seldom worked in the field ministry decided to use this opportunity wisely. Since a war was being waged in the literature storage room against some ravenous, destructive, critters, it was decided that the books were better off in the hands of people hungering for truth, than in the stomachs of hungry termites. As a result, within only a few hours, over 70 Knowledge books were placed, and could be seen being read by many happy villagers. What a witness many received that day!
This week starts another exciting adventure and can hardly wait to be told.

Roof Pour!!!
The awaited day has passed. It was an awesome day for sure. To kick things off, this past Friday, we started with breakfast at 4:30 a.m. followed by a text discussion at the site with the congregation at 5:30 a.m. We had hoped to start work at 6:00 a.m. but we ended up having the start time delayed a bit. After the text discussion when some of the group went back to start preparing food, it was discovered that a giant mango tree (i mean really giant) had fallen across the entire road blocking vehicles completely, which included the heavy equipment operators that were coming from the other side. Keep in mind there is only one road that goes somewhat around the island so there are no alternate routes. A few went to help clear this giant of a tree and with some prayers and quick thinking, we were able to transport the equipment operators to the site.
After getting set up, the pour commenced at about 7:30 a.m. and about 11 hours later at around 6:30 p.m. the pour was finally over. It was a long day to say the least. Everyone worked so hard throughout the day. Some things that were being done were, feeding the dial mixer, which included shoveling, and pouring cement bags, keeping the cement bags stocked on the mixer (they weigh about 90 pounds), pushing wheel barrows, moving concrete, and many more jobs. Not to mention all the hard work that went into preparing the food. After the pour, a crew stayed till after 11 p.m. to do finish concrete work. Needless to say, everyone got a good nights rest after that. It was also quite a boost to have some come from Guam and Pohnpei to help. I don't know about everyone else, but after Friday, I felt like my arms were going to fall off.
Also, the day before the pour, we were able to get our generator set on it's pad, as you will see in the photos.
Enjoy the photos and short video clips. This is the Pacific Feed Weekly.

Hello July
Yet another delayed post. I feel I am suffering from a severe case of island time syndrome, and I hope to recover soon. On a separate note, it was another awesome week of work. The roof pour is finally on the horizon. All are anxious as we await this Friday. Preparations on site are being made which include but are not limited to stocking materials, cleaning the site, and planning meals for the day. I will be happy to let you know how it goes as well as provide footage as well as photos from the scene of all the action.
I went back to that call I was telling you about a few weeks ago, no one was home at the time though. I returned this past Saturday and met up with the mother of the gentleman whom I had spoken to previously. She was also interested in having the witnesses come by so an appointment was made for this weekend. We'll see what happens then.
Here in the construction group some of us have adopted a new concept of getting through the week. We have decided to do away with Thursday and call it First Friday. Following First Friday is Second Friday. We have our meeting on Wednesday evening you see, and after that we pretty much consider it the start of the week end. It is so much more relieving to know that there are two Fridays in a week. On a side note, deep frying food is debatably one of the best ways to enhance it. I don't think it coincidental the choice of naming the fifth day of the week Friday.
Hope you enjoyed this week's post. Until next week, this is the Pacific Feed Weekly. :)
Moon or sun? What do you think?

Goodbye June (Post 12)
It is crazy how fast this month has gone by. We were able to get much accomplished though, only by the power of the most awesome force in the universe, Jehovah's holy spirit. We are all anxious and excited for the roof pour of the missionary home which will be a week from this Friday (July 9th). Last week we finished up the electrical and steel work on the roof, as well as setting up jacks and all the framing and supports for the pour.
I learned some more interesting things in Kosraean this past week. The word for heaven is "kosrao' (phonetically kosh-ou, ou as in ouch). Another word, which again is one vowel different, means dog. I found that pretty funny.
I have been enjoying my bike very much. I have been riding it everywhere. It is nice to get out on the open road with the breeze and fresh air. It has proved to be a very good investment despite it's color. =)
I wasn't able to get any ping pong photos, but I did get some volleyball action shots. So enjoy them instead. Sorry that this post is a day late. We recently had some power issues where I stay.
Until next week, this is the Pacific Feed Weekly. (admit it, it has a nice ring to it ;)
